EDR Enduro World Cup #1 Bike Check | YT MOB

2023/03/22

Since the initial YT MOB team camp in January, the crew has been hunting for the perfect race setup and testing a range of components as part of the UNCAGED philosophy.

Without the restriction of brand sponsorship, Jack and Texi are free to bolt their choice of kit to their CAPRA’s, and with Maydena on the horizon, they’re looking to dial in their spec. Let’s see how things have changed!

For Jack and Texi, the most drastic change is the shift to the much-anticipated SRAM XX Eagle Transmission drivetrain. It utilizes the CAPRA’s UDH compatibility and mounts directly onto the frame, eliminating the need for a hanger to enhance strength and reliability – traits that could make the difference between a podium and a DNF in a race. The drivetrain also features a durable flattop chain, which is said to be the strongest SRAM has ever produced.

I love the new SRAM Transmission; it’s super precise, and you can literally shift under full load. Also, it’s super strong, which is important as you hit rocks and other things in enduro.

For me, the biggest change since Finale Ligure would be the tires. On the very last day in Finale, I tried the Schwalbe tires, and it just felt like home! I’ve also found a perfect wheel combo with the solid DT Swiss alloy rims and the i9 hubs. The TRP brakes were fitted halfway through the test camp and won’t be going anywhere soon. This setup feels super good right now.
