Whisky, deep-fried Mars bars, and unforgiving racetracks – World Champs is coming to Fort William, Scotland, and The YT MOB is stepping up to the plate. Known for its wild weather and demanding 2.8km course, Fort Bill is a true test of the athlete’s racecraft and mettle as they go for broke hunting the coveted rainbow stripes.
Although Fort William is a regular staple on the World Cup circuit, it hasn’t played hosted to the World Championships since 2007. It’s back, and with some changes.
This year riding for The YT Mob and their respective countries is Sian A’Hern (Australia) and Oisin O’Callaghan (Ireland).
“It feels so special to represent Australia at the World Championships. It’s always such a privilege to be able to wear the Australian jersey and be able to race for my country. I feel that no matter how the week pans out, it’s something to be proud of and such a wonderful experience. Ultimately I want to win; we all want to wear those rainbow stripes! But I am aiming for a podium. It would be a dream come true to stand on a World Champs podium, that’s for sure.” – Sian A’Hern
SPEC HIGHLIGHTS
“Fort William Is a pretty special venue for me, I’ve had some great results there over the years, and it’s also where I first met The YT Mob at their Young Talent Camp. Now with me being an Elite racer, there are a lot of bigger names, and with me missing Worlds last year, I’m looking to put in a solid result in Fort William. A top 20 is my goal.” – Oisin O’Callaghan
