Another year and another Red Bull Rampage in the YT books. This year, YT were proud to see Ethan Nell, as-well-as rookie Dylan Stark take on the competition. Returning to its formative venue site, the 2022 Rampage edition displayed a unified fusion of smooth slopestyle trickery and freeride big hits as more single-crown builds were in the start gate.
It was Ethan Nell’s 5th Red Bull Rampage appearance this year. After laying down a solid first run featuring steep chutes, smooth transitions and linking a flatspin 360 to a massive suicide-no-hander. With high winds cancelling the second lot of runs for the athletes, Nell cemented his 11th place position.
“I got through everything I wanted, and it was my first top to bottom run. I’m really stoked.”
Ethan Nell
“Rampage was a blast, and I had a great time out there with my crew. It was actually a lot more chill than I expected, but a lot of graft and long days on the shovels. The hardest part of my Rampage was sneaking in the rail, haha.”
Dylan Stark.
Stark’s huge exposed ridgeline saw a toboggan off the first step-up before descending into the famous 72ft Rampage Canyon Gap where he delivered a tuck-no-hander. When Red Bull Rampage rookie Dylan Stark said he wanted to put BMX on the map, he wasn’t kidding. After landing the Canyon, Stark went on to the flat-drop where we saw a Rampage-first, a grind rail. Crank grinding his way to the finish corral, he secured himself 15th place.
“Will I be back next year? If they let me, of course I’ll come and give it a second shot”
Dylan Stark
As always, it’s been an honor to be a part of the world’s biggest mountain bike event, and we’re super stoked for our YT athletes. Until next year, Rampage…
“Both riders killed it with their lines. I’m extremely proud of our athletes and the dedication they showed leading up to Rampage. I’m already excited to see them back next year”
Jan Philipp, Head of Sports Marketing & Partnerships.
