You really can’t live UNCAGED if your suspension isn’t set up correctly. To get the most from your YT mountain bike and enjoy maximum good times, you need to adjust your fork and rear shock settings to suit your riding weight and style.
Not sure how to do this? Worry not! The YT Workshop is here to help guide you through mountain bike suspension set-up. Check out the video below to get started.
To set up your mountain bike suspension, you’ll need a few things to get the job done. First of all, grab your YT shock pump, which comes with your new bike (it’s inside the YT Toolbox provided!). If you prefer to use your own pump, ensure it’s compatible with Schrader valves.
You’ll need a level surface for your bike, and you’ll need to wear your riding kit to get your true weight while on the bike. It helps if you have someone to stabilise you while checking your pressures, but you can also do this yourself in a bike stand or against a wall.
To find out what pressures you’ll need for your fork and shock, the YT website has a handy suspension calculator to do all the hard work.
